About

Everyone wants to hear the story. This is the story of two women who became friends a long time ago, during grey Berlin winter months, spending time together, while getting their tired kindergarden children through the afternoons. We discussed life, marriage, art, crafts, and enjoyed each others company. When Zania moved away from Berlin to Ireland, we stayed in touch and even if there were months of silence, we could easily pick up our conversations and quickly get back into these deep and long, humorus and inspiring talks.
With bewrapped, we are finally collaborating on a common project, we are both excited about. Wanting to make a contribution to reduce plastic in our and our childrens' lives, we combine our artistic passion with the wonderful smelling bees wax, use the off-white wrap as a canvas and enjoy the outcome.

Zania Koppe is a sociologist and contemporary stitcher based on the west coast of Ireland. She explores spatial and social borders through both her visual and academic work, investigating social boundaries of exclusion/inclusion as well as the impact of design and textual experience on well-being. Exploring creativity as a daily practice in living, she engages with the peripheral spaces of radical hospitality within capitalist systems, exploring ideas of design, sustainable production and alternate family and kinship structures.
